Head of School
Dr. John House-Myers is an educational leader with demonstrated success leading innovative and academically rigorous programs in multicultural settings in different parts of the world. He is a lifelong educator and is currently entering his 38th year of a career that has had many highlights.
Dr. House-Myers was born and raised in New York and earned his Bachelors of Arts degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English at the State University of New York. After teaching West Indian students in the United States Virgin Islands and then Yupik Eskimo students in Alaska, he earned his Masters of Science degree in Special Education at Western Oregon University.
After returning to Alaska and serving in various innovative leadership roles, Dr. House-Myers moved to New Hampshire, in the heart of New England, where he served as principal of Bow High School, which was recognized as the top high school in New Hampshire in 2015. During this time he also earned a Doctorate degree in International Education at New England College, and wrote the International Education standards for the New Hampshire State Board of Education. During his final year as principal in New Hampshire, he was awarded the 2017 New Hampshire Administrator of the Year by the New Hampshire Music Educators Association.
Dr. House-Myers feels a great sense of pride in the high quality and professionalism of the founding teachers and Human Resource personnel that has assembled over the past year, and looks forward to collaborating with the Dream Team to create one of the finest boarding schools in all of China, BASIS International School Park Lane Harbour.
